(CAB) writes to urge your Council to support amending the City Charter to expand the opportunity to serve on all City boards and commissions to all City residents, regardless of whether they are registered voters. CAB, the County’s designated anti-poverty community action agency, believes strongly in the values of equity, inclusion and service. Residents of this community, regardless of whether they are registered voters, are impacted by decisions of these bodies, and should be represented, and have the opportunity to serve on them, in order to promote increased community and civic engagement, and greater participation and inclusion of diverse voices.
